The Grandmaster Tempo is another sought-after event, particularly in South Africa, due to the complete dominance of a single genre.

It allows abet listeners and hardcore music fans to immerse themselves in a fusion of different genres to bring together a vibe that isn’t really present in PTA (Pretoria).

The event included a fire lineup of DJs that catered to Hip-Hop, Bounce, House, and Amapiano.

The event was created in January by MK, also known as Grandmaster Sakam, in hopes of creating a community that spans beyond Pretoria.

Grandmaster Sakam is a polished DJ who taps into sounds such as Bounce (Alternative House), R&B, and Hip-Hop.

Grandmaster Sakam has a strong foundation around him, with most of the production team and DJs being close friends with whom he has built a long-lasting relationship.

This was the second event of the Grandmaster Tempo, back by popular demand, and it rose to the occasion, leaving us fully invested and wondering when the next one is coming.

DJs such as Caffe Latte made an appearance and completely rocked the Deck, a true representation of DECK SUPREME

We caught up with him after his set to give praise and understand what went into curating that particular set

‘I love House Music, and since I had an early set, I wanted to introduce music that people don’t normally hear. I wanted to introduce people to soulful tunes and not play bangers like Liquideep.’

This speaks to Caffe Latte being able to read his audience and curate a playlist that isn’t only enjoyable but fully executes the number one job of any DJ, which is to introduce people to new music.
